Free Pokémon EV Calculator for EV Spreads and Training

The Pokémon EV Calculator helps you calculate how Effort Values affect a Pokémon’s final stats, check an existing EV spread, and plan EV training efficiently. You can use it for regular Pokémon or switch to Infinite Fusion mode to calculate stats for fused Pokémon.

Pokémon EV Calculator Guide: What Are EVs?

Effort values, or EVs, are points a Pokémon earns from battles. Each Pokémon you defeat gives a set number of EVs in one or more stats, called its EV yield. A Pidgey gives Speed EVs, a Machop gives Attack EVs, and so on.

  • Every 4 EVs in a stat add 1 point at level 100 (about half that at level 50).
  • 252 EVs is the most a single stat can have, worth 63 points at level 100.
  • 510 EVs is the most a Pokémon can have across all six stats.

That’s why a common spread is 252 / 252 / 4: two stats maxed and the last 4 points in a third. The extra 2 EVs would be wasted, because they don’t reach the next multiple of 4.

How to Use the Pokémon EV Calculator

Pick the Pokémon, or a head and body for an Infinite Fusion, its level and its nature. Then choose one of the three tools:

  1. Stats from EVs: type or slide the EVs for each stat and see the final stats straight away, with the 510 limit and wasted EVs flagged. Presets fill common spreads.
  2. Find EVs from stats: enter the IVs and the current stats from the summary screen, and the calculator works out how many EVs each stat has.
  3. EV training planner: enter the EVs you have and the EVs you want, choose a Pokémon to battle, and see how many KOs you need, with Power items, Macho Brace and Pokérus.

The console buttons work too: up and down change the Pokémon, left and right switch tools, A fills a suggested spread and B clears the EVs.

How EVs change stats

Pokémon Infinite Fusion uses the same stat formulas as the modern main series games:

HP = ⌊(2 × Base + IV + ⌊EV ÷ 4⌋) × Level ÷ 100⌋ + Level + 10

Other stats = ⌊(⌊(2 × Base + IV + ⌊EV ÷ 4⌋) × Level ÷ 100⌋ + 5) × Nature⌋

Because EVs are divided by 4 and then scaled by level, 252 EVs are worth 63 points at level 100 but only about 31 at level 50.

EV training tips

  • Battle Pokémon with high yields. Fully evolved and legendary Pokémon often give 2 or 3 EVs each. The planner lists the best ones for every stat.
  • Use a Power item. Power Weight (HP), Power Bracer (Attack), Power Belt (Defense), Power Lens (Sp. Atk), Power Band (Sp. Def) and Power Anklet (Speed) add bonus EVs on every KO.
  • Double up. The Macho Brace doubles EVs gained, and Pokérus doubles them again.
  • Plan before you start. Once a Pokémon reaches 510 EVs it can’t gain more, so decide on the spread first.

Power item bonuses differ between game versions: modern games add 8 EVs per KO, and older ones add 4. The planner lets you choose, so check what your version of Infinite Fusion gives.

EVs for Infinite Fusion Pokémon

In fusion mode the calculator uses the fusion’s own base stats. HP, Special Attack and Special Defense come two-thirds from the head, and Attack, Defense and Speed come two-thirds from the body. Pair it with the IV calculator to check your fusion’s IVs, and the damage calculator to see what your EV spread does in battle.

Frequently asked questions

What are EVs in Pokémon?

EVs, or effort values, are points a Pokémon earns by defeating other Pokémon. Each defeated Pokémon gives EVs in one or more stats. Every 4 EVs in a stat add 1 point to that stat at level 100.

What is the maximum number of EVs?

A Pokémon can have up to 510 EVs in total and up to 252 in a single stat. Because only every 4 EVs count, a common spread is 252 in two stats and 4 in a third, which uses 508 of the 510.

How do I find out how many EVs my Pokémon has?

Open Find EVs from stats, enter its level, nature, IVs and current stats, and the calculator works out the EVs in each stat. If you don't know the IVs, run the IV calculator first on a freshly caught Pokémon with 0 EVs.

Which Pokémon give the most EVs?

Fully evolved and legendary Pokémon usually give 2 or 3 EVs per KO. The EV training planner lists the Pokémon with the highest EV yield for any stat, so you can pick the best ones to battle.

What do Power items, Macho Brace and Pokérus do?

A Power item adds bonus EVs to one stat on every KO. The Macho Brace doubles the EVs gained, and Pokérus doubles them again. The planner applies these to tell you how many KOs you need.

Does the EV calculator work for Infinite Fusion Pokémon?

Yes. In fusion mode it uses the fusion's own base stats, worked out from the head and body with Infinite Fusion rules, so the final stats match what your fused Pokémon has in the game.
